Leadership Notes

Welcome Back!

Welcome back, NIRSA Student Members! I hope all of you are excited about getting back to school and things gearing up for the exciting year ahead of us. I know I am. Whew, it has been a crazy summer. The Student Leadership Team and I are excited about getting the school year kicked off right.

With that being said, we want you guys to keep a look out for the newly remodeled NIRSA Student Web Page that should be ready to launch within weeks. It is going to be jam packed with lots of great information that you will definitely want to check out. Cory Granholm and the rest of the NNC staff have been hard at work in getting this site ready for you, and we can't wait to see the finished product!

Another exciting thing that we are currently working on is our six, YES, count them, SIX, Student Lead Ons. This has been something that we have all been working on diligently. If any of you are interested in volunteering or presenting at any of the events, please let your Regional Student Representative know. After all, the Lead Ons are "for the students, by the students." So rise to the challenge and help your Student Leadership Team not only by attending, but also by becoming involved in the actual program. You never know, you might be the student planning that event in your region next year!

And also on that subject, it is officially time for you all to start thinking about filling our shoes next year. I can tell you from firsthand experience that there is no better seat in the house. It is truly an honor and a privilege. If you think that you simply don't have the time to be a Regional or even National Student Representative then become one of our many and much needed Campus Contacts. There are a hundred different ways to "Step up and Stand." Be sure to keep an eye out on the NIRSA Web site for the official kick off of this new initiative!

Finally there are lots of events going on in each of our regions so take a look at the NIRSA Master Calendar for things that you might want to attend. There's definitely something for everyone!

I hope all of you are able to ease right into your school schedules and have a really great year. Please don't hesitate to contact me or any of the other members of the Student Leadership Team with any concerns or questions that you might have.
