Is my T-shirt better than your T-shirt?
NIRSA Foundation T-shirt & Apparel Competition April 6-7
This attention-getting fundraiser will once again be one of the Annual Conference's high points. Join the fun and promote your Institution's recreation department and programs by entering items that showcase your graphic design and event promotion savvy. Entries will be judged on originality, content, graphic design and overall visual appeal.
The design contest sparks friendly competition among NIRSA Institutions while serving as an exchange of creative promotion ideas. Winning items are auctioned and the competing entries go on sale at the NIRSA Foundation Store. All proceeds go to the NIRSA Foundation's $1 Million Milestone Campaign.
Winning T-shirts do double fundraising duty. Each will be included in the T-shirt Quilt, designed and sewn by Roy Easley from Cal Poly Pomona, which will be auctioned at the next Annual Conference.
Contest Rules
T-shirts will be judged in each of the following categories:
- Commercial Sponsorship
(Any shirt with commercial markings or one that has been subsidized by a commercial organization must be entered in the Commercial Sponsorship category.)
- Fitness & Leisure
- Humorous
- Intramurals
- One-color Screen (includes all categories except commercial)
- Outdoor
- Special Events — NEW!
- Sport Clubs
- Staff (e.g., lifeguard, instructor, and officials' shirts)
Shirts may be long-sleeved, short-sleeved, or tank style.
Two identical T-shirts must be submitted for each entry, so that the winning shirt may be sewn into the 2007 quilt and the second shirt auctioned to the highest bidder.
If you wish a T-shirt to be considered in more than one category, you must submit two T-shirts for each category entered.
All items must represent events that occur April 2005–March 2006.
You may also enter other apparel or promotional items, which will receive separate recognition, such as jackets, vests, sweatshirts, caps, hats, towels, totes, or other similar items that promote your Institution's recreation programs and facilities.
How to Enter
Bring your completed entry forms with you for a quick check-in. Entries will be accepted at the Foundation Table in the Registration area on Tuesday, April 4, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. and Wednesday, April 5, 8 a.m.–3 p.m.
