As you plan your trip to the 2006 NIRSA Annual Conference in Louisville, consider a stop or side trip to Columbus, Ohio for a very special event the day before the Conference begins. The Ohio State University Department of Recreational Sports invites you to join them for the April 3 dedication of the Mary A. Daniels Student Wellness Suite, home to the Student Wellness Center, which provides wellness counseling and education to Ohio State students.
Dr. Daniels, CRSS, is a Past President of NIRSA and an Honor Award winner. She was a founding member of the Ohio State University Wellness Collaborative and spent over 30 years serving Ohio State students, most recently as an assistant vice-president of student affairs, retiring in 2001.
The dedication will take place Monday, April 3 from 3-5 p.m. in the atrium of the new Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC), which houses the Wellness Suite at the heart of the Ohio State campus. A brief reception and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be followed by tours of the RPAC. Attendees can also visit the Adventure Recreation Center, Jesse Owens Recreation Centers, and Fred Beekman Park.
Columbus is a convenient three-hour drive from Louisville. Ohio State staff are happy to provide directions and suggest accommodations for those wishing to attend.
To RSVP or to schedule additional campus and facility tours, please contact Marci Harrington, marketing director, at 614-688-3983.
