The Intramural Sports Departments at Washington University in St. Louis and Saint Louis University conducted the sixth annual SLU/WASH U Fall Classic at historic Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri, on November 5, 2005. The one-day event featured competition in both flag football and 7-on-7 soccer between students of both universities. For a nominal fee, fifteen teams had an enjoyable day of competition, added another T-shirt to their wardrobes, and feasted on a barbecue lunch.
Coordinating the festivities were Saint Louis University’s Club Sports and Intramural Coordinator Sam Kelner and Washington University’s Director of Intramural Sports Sean Curtis and Associate Director Lynn Imergoot.
According to Imergoot, this event is a win-win each year. “It brings students together for good sportsmanship and fellowship, and we’re very proud to donate $750 to Prevent Child Abuse Missouri,” she said.
NIRSA Professional Members Kelner, Curtis, and Imergoot hope to add ultimate disc to next year’s competition.
