USTA offers $15,000 donation match to kick off $1 Million Milestone Campaign in Louisville
In support of the NIRSA Foundation's $1 Million Milestone Campaign, the United States Tennis Association (USTA), a longtime NIRSA friend and partner, has very generously agreed to be a Matching Sponsor at the 2006 Annual Conference. The USTA will double all individual contributions made at the Conference to the $1 Million Milestone Campaign, including individual donations to NIRSA Foundation restricted funds, up to an aggregate total of $15,000.
NIRSA is thrilled that USTA, with its long history of commitment to our organization, has once again stepped up to show their support for the valuable work of all our Members.
“We are delighted to support the NIRSA Foundation's $1 Million Milestone Campaign, which will help bring student and professional development, research and scholarship in collegiate recreational sports to a new level,” said Kurt Kamperman, Chief Executive, Community Tennis, USTA. “NIRSA has been a longtime friend and partner with their support of our Tennis on Campus program and annual USA Team Tennis National Campus Championship. It is a natural fit for us to be involved with a campaign of this significance, which ultimately improves the mental and physical well-being of today’s college students and tomorrow’s leaders.”
The USTA is the national governing body for the sport of tennis in the U.S. It owns and operates the US Open, the largest annually attended sporting event in the world. In addition, it owns the 96 Pro Circuit events throughout the U.S., and selects the teams for the Davis Cup, Fed Cup, Olympic and Paralympic Games. A not-for-profit organization with more than 670,000 members, it invests 100% of its proceeds to promote and develop the growth of tennis, from the grassroots to the professional levels.
