Dr. Cheryl Wild, President of Wild & Associates, Inc., has been hired to provide consultation for the National Professional Registry.
The proposal for a National Registry for Recreational Sports Professionals outlines a process for identifying, encouraging, guiding, and recognizing purposeful professional development.
Dr. Wild has worked in the not-for-profit field for 30 years, designing and implementing new processes. She also led the change management effort (including training and communication) to reengineer the test creation process for a major testing company. In addition, Dr. Wild is an assessor for the ISO/IEC 17024, a quality management and psychometric standard for certifying agencies. She is a member of the National Organization of Certifying Agencies (NOCA) and the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
In November 2005, the NIRSA Board of Directors authorized $15,000 from the Emergency & Initiative Fund to hire a consultant to provide an implementation plan for the National Registry for Recreational Sports Professionals.
Before developing an implementation plan, Dr. Wild will work closely with NIRSA National Center staff and the Professional Registry Work Team, chaired by Dennis Corrington, CRSS, Texas A&M University, to benchmark and evaluate other organizations that have a registry program in place.
