Help build a church at (where else?) Churchill Downs
The Recreational Sports Christian Fellowship Association (RSCFA) annual service project will be held at Churchill Downs in Louisville on Tuesday, April 4, 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Volunteers will help convert an old building into a church that will minister to seasonal racetrack workers. Pat Day, a Kentucky Derby winner and one of the country's foremost jockeys, and Elliott Walden, a leading horse trainer, are spearheading the effort.
Volunteers should wear old clothes for painting and physical work. Everyone will gather at 10:15 a.m. in the Marriott Hotel Lobby to carpool to the racetrack (about a 15-minute drive). If you plan to participate, please email Greg Scheer by March 30.
