Leadership Notes
March to Employment Success
By Linda Clauss, Clemson University, National Student Representative
Greetings once again Student Members!
The Annual Conference is less than a week away, and I don’t know about you, but I am stoked! There are tons of exciting professional development and networking opportunities for those of you that will be attending.
The Student Business Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday April 5 at 2 p.m. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to exercise your voting rights and hear speeches from and elect your new National Student Representative and your new Regional Student Representative. If you are not able to attend the Conference, don’t worry. You can still exercise your voting rights by proxy voting.
While you are at the Conference, be sure to check out the new Student Hospitality Area, which will be right by the Career Opportunities Center (COC). The Student Leadership Team has some plans in the mix that include free massage therapy Wednesday morning, as well as refreshments and leisure entertainment at times. We are also setting up professional mentoring/networking opportunities, so make sure you stop by.
For those of you who will be interviewing at this year’s Conference and want to polish your resume or brush up on your interviewing skills, visit the Student website. It has been updated to prepare all of you in your "March to Employment Success." Chock-full of resumes, letters of application, and interviewing tips, the website is an excellent resource for preparing yourself to be an excellent candidate for any position.
On that note, and on behalf of your Student Leadership Team, see you in Louisville! Safe travels.
Cheers!
