Body Masters emerges from Chapter 11
After a rebuilding year, this Associate Member is back and better than ever.
Body Masters Sports Industries, Inc. announced that its Chapter 11 Plan of Reorganization has been formally and overwhelmingly approved by the federal court and its creditors, just 14 months since its filing in January, 2005. Body Masters remains a privately held corporation, as it has been for over 27 years.
During the past year, Body Masters has reorganized its business plans, practices and manufacturing processes. Through improvements in these areas, the company was able to launch the Premier Series, a new premium line of strength equipment featuring the company's own proprietary steel tubing design.
These improvements also made it possible for Rayne, Louisiana-based Body Masters to survive two of the worst natural disasters in our country’s history. According to Ray Boudreaux, president of Body Masters, “Our physical plant did not sustain any direct damages as a result of the hurricanes, but we experienced critical manufacturing interruptions with power and communication outages. In addition, we were unable to obtain materials for many days since a large majority of our suppliers are located along the Gulf Coast region.”
“We’re excited to begin this new chapter in the company’s storied 27-year history,” adds Boudreaux. “We would like to thank our valued customers, suppliers, distributors and employees for their commitment and support throughout our reorganization. We have emerged a much stronger and more efficient organization as a result.”
Body Masters designs, engineers, and manufactures an extensive line of selectorized, plate-loaded, multi-station, and free weight equipment. Be sure to visit them at Booth #500 at the Recreational Sports Expo, April 5-6 in Louisville.
