"Parting words" from the outgoing National Student Representative

Greetings Student Members of NIRSA!
It was great to see so many of you at the Annual Conference last month in Louisville—715 students attended, which is a third of the total! I hope you all had the opportunity to attend a myriad of educational sessions, and also partake in the various student specific events offered this year, including the Student Hospitality Area and Take a Student to Lunch. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, or feedback regarding any of the student programs offered this year, please contact your NEW Regional Student Representative or National Student Representative. Their contact information can be found on the NIRSA student homepage.
If you are interested in getting more involved in your professional association, NIRSA, and taking an active leadership role, please visit the student website and peruse the student leadership opportunities section to find the right fit. Getting involved is the best way to expand your horizons and further develop those transferable skills that will make you that much more marketable, and prepared for future employment success.
Once again, thank you all for your involvement, assistance and contributions you made to help us attain our goals this year. The Top 5 in ’05 goals would not have been successfully achieved without your dedication.
In closing, congratulations to my fellow graduates. Here’s to the Class of 2006! Have a great summer and safe travels. It has been an honor to serve this great association that boasts so many talented, revered, passionate, and dedicated individuals. I am excited to see what the future holds, and to see our student members’ and young professionals’ potential realized as we steer the future of our field and association.
