Be More Sticky
Register now for the National Marketing Institute, November 29-December 1 in San Antonio
"Stickiness" was first widely used to describe the amount of time and attention a user would devote to a website. Recently, it has been adopted by the marketing community to define the aspect of a promotion that spawns a meaningful connection with its target audience. Malcolm Gladwell, in his book The Tipping Point, describes this ‘stickiness’ as something “so memorable, in fact, that it can create change, that it can spur someone to action.”
What is to draw a student to walk into a gym instead of a bar or any other venue? How can recreational sports marketing professionals tip the scales, spurring students to take action, selecting to allot their time to recreational sports events and services? It is simply not enough for promotional efforts to be frequent, pervasive, and loud. They must be carefully crafted to speak to the inner needs of the people who encounter them.
The National Marketing Institute is the perfect opportunity for professionals and students alike to convene on this subject, learning and sharing how to make ‘sticky’ marketing for their complex recreational programs and facilities. Our slogan this year, “Be More Sticky,” speaks to this goal. (It also unabashedly hints at the location of the Institute in stickery cactus-laden San Antonio, Texas.)
Attendees will hear keynote speakers, sit in on assorted workshops, learn from the professionals in the field, and network to gain a glimpse of marketing strategies and techniques that succeed. This Institute will provide vital skills necessary for improving or starting an effective marketing program, with presentations that will address a variety of topics, including public relations, promotions, brand marketing, corporate sponsorships, fundraising, strategic planning, market research and graphic design. So get on the stick and register now!
