Mark your calendars for April 18-21 for the NIRSA 2007 Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Exposition in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Be sure to check out the new four-day conference schedule.
The Program Committee has begun the challenging task of reviewing and selecting proposals, and aims to provide results to members by September 30. Under the provisions of the four-day format, the committee anticipates accepting approximately half of the more than 120 proposals.
You won’t want to miss a single day. Pre-Conference Workshops and the NIRSA Foundation Golf Tournament kick off the events of Wednesday, April 18, followed by the Opening General Session and Welcome Social/Theme Night at the Mall of America. “Conference attendees will get some exclusive time in The Park at MOA,” said Host Committee Chair Dan Allen, University of Minnesota, referring to the mall’s seven-acre amusement park. “Dinner and transportation will be provided, so everybody can just relax and have fun catching up with their colleagues. And remember: no sales tax on clothing in Minnesota!”
Every day of the Conference includes educational sessions, meetings, and access to the Career Opportunities Center. The Recreational Sports Exposition takes place Thursday and Friday, April 19-20.
For evening fun and networking, Thursday night offers the People of Color Social; a dance party at The Depot (a restored train station downtown); and an ice skating party at the University of Minnesota. Friday night is open for independent socials or exploring, and Saturday night features the Honor Award Banquet.
