The Collegiate Sport Club Symposium once again hit high numbers at its 11th annual event, held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin June 13-15. The symposium attracted 122 attendees; featured representatives from 12 different National Governing Bodies; and offered 18 different educational sessions, including two sessions on risk management in sport clubs by keynote speaker Dr. Ian McGregor.
The Symposium Committee was comprised of Marie Fekete, Chair, University of California, Irvine; Scott Anderegg, Marquette University; Meghan Dillon, Elon University; Trineice Durst, University of California, Berkeley; and Chris Muller, University of Texas at Arlington. The committee planned a preconference tour of Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Pettit Center, a U.S. Olympic training facility. ComedySportz, an improv comedy group, entertained the entire group the following evening, poking a little fun at Chad McKenzie, University of Texas at Austin, Seth Thomas, University of Alabama, and Valerie McCutchan of the NIRSA National Center.
The Collegiate Sport Club Symposium is offered every other year, and will take place again in June 2009.
