Risk Management, Sustainability sections added to NIRSA Know

New regular features debut in this issue

Thanks to NIRSA Member Ian McGregor, the NIRSA Know will feature a monthly column on topics related to campus recreation risk management. McGregor, who was the keynote speaker at the recent NIRSA Collegiate Sport Club Symposium in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a recognized expert on risk management in the sport and recreation fields. He was previously Director of Athletics and Recreation at the University of Toronto and Saint Mary's University in Canada, and at Dominican University of California. He is now President of Ian McGregor & Associates Inc., providing risk management consulting services primarily to post-secondary institutions, and specializing in risk assessments and risk management planning. He publishes the Risk Management Newsletter for Campus Recreation.

NIRSA is also pleased to offer members the latest news on sustainability within higher education. As a member of the Higher Education Associations’ Sustainability Consortium (HEASC), NIRSA will share relevant updates from that organization, as well as other information that may assist collegiate recreational sports professionals in their institutions’ green efforts.
