After a very successful pilot program last year, NIRSA is pleased to continue its National Intern program. The purpose of the program is to develop future Association leaders through an informative and comprehensive internship experience in association management, leadership, sport event management, educational program development, membership services, and marketing activities.
Diane Broyhill of the University of Iowa will be the National Intern for the Spring semester. Her official appointment will be January 7 May 15, 2008.
Diane graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December 2005 with a BS in Education and Human Sciences. At Nebraska, she worked for two and a half years as the Office Assistant to the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. She is currently completing her Masters Degree at the University of Iowa in Recreational Sports Management, where she is a teaching assistant, and will graduate upon her completion of the internship.
“I look forward to working directly with recreational sports students and professionals while assisting them in the operations of national championships and conferences,” she said.
Diane has been a NIRSA Student Member for the past two years, attended the past two NIRSA Annual Conferences, and was a session monitor at the 2007 Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Expo in Minneapolis.
