Austin is not your typical Texas town. Trade your thoughts of flat ranch land for beautiful rolling hills, meandering streams, and luscious landscapes. Just minutes out of downtown, roadsides and open fields are dotted with colorful wildflowers in the spring. Austin is the gateway to the scenic Hill Country, and its warm hospitality and dynamic landscape will contribute to making the 2008 Annual Conference truly unique.
Plans are being made for three pre-conference opportunities to experience Austin, catering to all levels of adventure. For those interested in an active start to the conference, the kayaking or rock climbing day trip will be perfect for you! Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the great outdoors in one of these two trips with experienced local guides.
If you prefer a little less activity but just as much adventure, the Austin BBQ Tour is designed with you in mind. Join your colleagues in tasting some of Austin’s best barbecue during this day-long tasting tour!
Information on these pre-conference trips will be included in Annual Conference registration materials, available later this fall. Register early, as space is limited on all three trips.
One of the stops on the BBQ Tour will be Ironworks, located just steps from the Austin Convention Center. Try out their recipe for Boneless Beef Ribs:
