Travel stipends available for top NIRSA Regional Flag Football Championships officials

Part of the National Campus Championship Series

Student officials from each NIRSA Regional Flag Football Championship will receive a travel stipend to officiate at the NIRSA NCCS National Flag Football Championships held at The University of Texas at Dallas January 3-5, 2008.

The top four officials from each NIRSA regional will be invited to the National Championships and receive a $150 travel stipend. Each regional’s Officials Committee will determine which four officials will referee at nationals.

“The NCCS and Extramural Committees strongly support every effort to get our finest student officials to our national tournament,” said Extramural Committee Chair Chad Ellsworth. “These young men and women have worked exceedingly hard to become outstanding sports officials, benefiting their own campus programs as well as our National Sports Programs in the process.”

The action gets underway October 26-28, as The Ohio State University and Oklahoma State University host their regionals. For the second year in a row, NIRSA will have eight Regional Flag Football Championships. A complete list of regionals, including contact information for each, is available on the NIRSA website.
