Outdoor Recreation, anyone? 'Workshops' premiere at the 2008 Annual Conference
By the 2008 Program Committee
An exciting new learning opportunity is on the docket for the 2008 Annual Conference: workshops. Free workshops will be offered during the Conference in four topic areas. These two-hour sessions will include a presentation, networking opportunities, and roundtable discussions.
One of the topics being offered on Thursday, April 3 is "Outdoor Recreation: The State of the Industry." Nicole Olmeda, consultant to the Outdoor Committee and Assistant Director at The University of Texas at Austin, is coordinating efforts.
The focus of this workshop will be on the current state of outdoor recreation on college campuses. This workshop will be especially relevant for administrators who are not as familiar with the current issues and trends facing outdoor programs and professionals, including directors of recreational sports programs.
There is no additional registration or fee for these workshops; participation is open to all Conference attendees on a first come, first served basis.
2008 is the year for outdoor professionals to attend the NIRSA Annual Conference! The four-day event will feature five outdoor educational sessions, two pre-conference outdoor trips, the outdoor workshop, and a long list of other educational sessions beneficial to outdoor professionals. Please help spread the word!
For additional information, please email Nicole Olmeda.
