In support of the NIRSA Foundation's $1 Million Milestone Campaign, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) has agreed to be a Matching Sponsor once again at the 2008 Annual Conference. The USTA will double all individual contributions made to the $1 Million Milestone Campaign at the Conference, including individual donations to NIRSA Foundation restricted funds, up to an aggregate total of $15,000.
Beau Rugg, NIRSA Foundation Board Chair, recently shared, "The NIRSA Foundation is thrilled that USTA, with its long history of commitment to our organization, has once again stepped up to show their support for the valuable work of all our members." The previous two matching campaigns have generated over $60,000 in donations for the NIRSA Foundation.
"The USTA is very grateful for its partnership with NIRSA and NIRSA's invaluable support in growing recreational tennis on college campuses. We are delighted to again support the NIRSA Foundation and its Matching Fundraising Campaign," said Jon Vegosen, Director at Large, USTA Board of Directors.
"NIRSA has been a longtime friend and partner with their support of our Tennis On Campus program and annual USTA National Campus Championship. It is a natural fit for us to be involved with a campaign of this significance, which ultimately improves the mental and physical well-being of today's college students and tomorrow's leaders," stated Kurt Kamperman, Chief Executive of Community Tennis, USTA.
The USTA is the national governing body for the sport of tennis in the United States. It owns and operates the US Open, the largest annually attended sporting event in the world. In addition, it owns the 96 Pro Circuit events throughout the U.S., and selects the teams for the Davis Cup, Fed Cup, Olympic and Paralympic Games. A not-for-profit organization with more than 670,000 members, it invests 100% of its proceeds to promote and develop the growth of tennis, from the grassroots to the professional levels.
