The NIRSA National Center welcomes Diane Broyhill as its second full-time student intern in the NNC Internship Program. Diane is a second-year graduate student pursuing a degree in Leisure and Recreational Sports Management at the University of Iowa. Diane completed her undergraduate degree in Community Health Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. While at UNL, Diane was honored to work at the Student Affairs office with the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director of Campus Recreation, Stan Campbell, who inspired her to get involved with NIRSA.
Diane will be highly involved in all areas of NIRSA: programming, budgeting, board meetings, and sports events, to name a few. She will complete her internship on May 15.
The purpose of the program is to develop future Association leaders through an informative and comprehensive internship experience in association management, leadership, sport event management, educational program development, membership services, and marketing activities.
Diane has found that Oregon provides ample opportunities for her to further both her professional and personal passions of traveling, hiking, biking, and competitive sports—especially tennis and swimming. Diane is currently training for her first triathlon, which she will complete in May.
