Conference & Expo
Get ready for lots of live music in Austin
By the 2008 Annual Conference Host Committee
With just days until the start of the 2008 Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Exposition, the Host Committee is anxiously awaiting your arrival. We hope you will enjoy the events that we have planned for you!
As you know, Austin is known for live music, and we have incorporated that theme into this year’s Conference. Plan to attend the following events to hear some of Austin’s best musicians:
Wednesday, April 2
- 4-6pm, Opening General Session, Austin Convention Center
Innervisions Gospel Choir performs
- 6-8pm, A Taste of Texas Welcome Social and Dinner, Hilton Austin Grand Ballroom
Seth Walker will perform
- 8pm-2am, Live Music Capital of the World After Party, Buffalo Billiards
The Mother Truckers perform
Thursday, April 3
- 8:30pm-2am, NIRSA City Limits, Austin Music Hall
Gary P. Nunn and The Spazmatics perform
Saturday, April 5
- 5:30pm, Honor Award Banquet, Hilton Austin
Django’s Moustache will perform
Here are a few reminders as you pack for the Conference:
- Pack comfortable shoes. Although transportation will be provided to all socials, many attendees will prefer to walk, since most events are in close proximity to the Convention Center.
- Don’t forget your “Make a Child Smile” toy or donation. These will be accepted at the host table in the Convention Center.
- Check the weather before you depart. April in Austin can be unpredictable.
- Prepare to have some fun and experience Texas hospitality!
