To receive best pricing for the first-ever NIRSA National Intramural Symposium, attendees need to register by Monday, May 12. The inaugural event will take place June 11-13 at the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The NIS will feature 20 educational sessions including a keynote address from Barry Mano, founder and president of the National Association of Sports Officials and publisher/executive editor of Referee Magazine. Mano will also serve on an Officials Panel that consists of former NCAA officials Cindi Arnold, Tommy Salermo, Bobby Pennington, Debbie Williamson, and NIRSA Member David Gaskins.
Thanks to NIRSA Associate Member Imleagues.com for sponsoring the “Night at the Ballpark,” where attendees will enjoy a Carolina Mudcats minor league baseball game and buffet dinner on the evening of June 11.
“The Planning Committee is thrilled with the action-packed program that has evolved, and it’s a can’t-miss opportunity for those involved with administering intramural programming,” said NIS Planning Committee Chair Andy Milton from St. Ambrose University. “The amount of information to be learned is second to none, as are the unlimited benefits from the networking opportunities available at NIRSA events like this.”
Also on the Planning Committee are Joe Book, University of Wyoming; David Parker, University of North Carolina Wilmington; James Wilkening, University of Central Florida; and Tara Yesenski, Arizona State University.
More information about the symposium, including registration details, the daily schedule, and hotel accommodations, can be found on the NIRSA website.
