NIRSA Associate Member and Foundation Corporate Partner Star Trac has donated a Koko Smartrainer to the NIRSA National Center (NNC) fitness room.
Koko is an interactive training tool that customizes exercise programs for each user. Providing immediate feedback, Koko continually monitors and modifies workouts to motivate the user and prevent plateaus.
NNC staff response has been very enthusiastic. “Left to my own devices, I’m just not motivated enough to stay with any kind of strength training program,” said Katherine Otten, NIRSA Editor & Assistant Director of Marketing. “But I’m actually excited to do my Koko workouts. I like the structure and the positive reinforcement it provides.”
Thanks to Star Trac representatives Marc Loomer, Andrew Moore, and Robbin Bull, who visited the NIRSA National Center to assist with Koko installation and training of NIRSA staff.
