The NIRSA Flag Football National Championships will be hosted by the University of Texas at Dallas, January 4-7, 2007. This National Championships tournament is part of the National Campus Championship Series (NCCS). UT Dallas has 10 flag football fields and will be able to host up to 75 teams. The campus is located 20 minutes north of downtown Dallas in Richardson, Texas.
The NIRSA Board of Directors voted unanimously to endorse and support the NIRSA Services Corporation (NSC) in its effort to establish a national flag football tournament as part of the National Campus Championship Series at the June NIRSA Board meeting in Corvallis, Oregon. The NSC Board of Directors approved the January 2007 date and UT Dallas as the site for this Championships tournament based on recommendations made by the NIRSA National Campus Championship Series Committee at its recent summit, also held in Corvallis.
Tricia Losavio, Director of Recreational Sports at UT Dallas, said, “I am excited and honored to host this tournament for NIRSA, and I look forward to working with the Extramural Committee to set up work teams for the National Championships.” If you would like to be involved with this event, please contact Chad Ellsworth, Chair of the Extramural Committee, at 480-965-3289.
The NIRSA website will be updated as new information for the National and Regional Championships becomes available.
